In 1969, Clyde began working as a pick-up truck driver for the Woostersville Fire Department, where he worked until his death. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Anderson Sr. of Wooster; s sister Estella, Alma and Leona; and his brother-in-law Robert Anderson. He worked at the Anderson Pick-Up Trucking Company, 515 W. Greening Ave.
A major goal of the construction was to restore the intimacy of the Anderson Arena and provide athletes and spectators with the same comfort, comfort and convenience as the old arena. The entire arena was also not air-conditioned and there was no air-conditioning for the basketball and football teams.
Due to its limited accommodation, Anderson Arena is nearing the end of its life. During the construction of the WOOSTER Bowl, it became clear that the most glaring factor in calling for Anderson Arena's replacement was that he was in serious violation of the American with Disabilities Act.
Seven campus locations have been considered for the construction of the Straw Center, including one on the east side of the campus, which will house the WOOSTER Bowl and the University of Ohio Athletic Center. In the end, the university decided to build the arena to meet the needs of students in dormitories around the campus and students with disabilities.
The Straw Center was equipped with a high-resolution video board, a video board and an audio system. The Straw Center also has a prominent Hall of Fame that recalls the history of the Ohio State University football team and its bowling games, including exhibits and display cases that store items in rotating order. There is also a designated area for cataloguing and storing items that are not currently on display.
In the late 1990s, Clyde helped raise $2.6 million to renovate the former Wooster elementary school, which he volunteered to help, and helped save money. He was instrumental in turning the school into what is now elementary and middle school and is a member of the board of directors of the Ohio State University Center for Air Conditioning. President Barack Obama gave a speech at the Straw Center in 2009 during his visit to Ohio.
